The Diamond Awards formerly known as the Duval Diamond Awards, inaugurated 18 years ago by Bigga Rankin was established to celebrate not only the major artists from the south, but as a way to put Duval on the map as a major entertainment market. Artists such as Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, Trina, 2Chainz, and most recently YFN Lucci won their first music awards at the Diamond Awards and went on to major stardom. This year we joined both the Diamond Awards and Bigga Rankin’s birthday for one BIGGA celebration. Bigga and Betta !!

Today starts the one week reunion for the Cool Running DJs, which is spear headed by Super DJ Bigga Rankin. During this reunion, you will see the likes of YT Triz, Young Dolph, Zed Zilla. This event also brings out the major execs of the music industry, reps such as Rap Coalition founder Wendy Day, some of Poe Boy music groups top leaders, and various others. The week is full with concerts, listening session, and PARTY’s.
Tonight the kick off is at Skyline Sportsbar, which will feature a mixtape release party for Lil UNFUFU, Bigga Rankin’s sinlge release party for MZ which features Tom G and Young Dolph, and Bigga Rankin will be honoring super producer D Rich. Our 24hourhiphop blogger, ROZAY will be on site covering some of the weeks events.
The highlight of this event is the actual Diamond Awards, which was intial referred to as the Duval Diamond Awards. I will give you all a better history on it as the week goes by. Stay Tuned for photo and video recaps throughout the week. If you are anywhere near Jacksonville FLA or can get there, I suggest you hop on a bus, in a car, on a plane, hell ride your bike and attend these events. ESPECIALLY if you are an independent artist looking to network and get exposure.
